After making headlines for his still unbelievable confrontation with a car full of idiotic teenagers, Joe Budden is now planning to make some money. Budden’s infamous all out sprint to the offending teens’ car has been memorialized into new merchandise for the Jersey MC. Dad hats and tees with the silhouette of the Budden’s Usain Bolt-esque stance are available on his official website for $30 bucks.

Many writers, myself included, give Budden a hard time for being humorless, so this is a welcome sign that the Slaughterhouse rapper does have a sense of humor.
Besides his run in with those dumb ass kids, Joe Budden has been in the news more in the past month or so than he has in the past couple of years. To Budden’s credit, his initial bump in newsworthiness came from doing what rappers should spend more time doing: actually rapping. Sure the subject matter of his series of ferocious diss tracks was Drake, but Budden’s still formidable bars have gotten plenty of notice as well. We talk about relevance a lot in hip-hop, but there’s something to be said for striking while the iron is hot.
And why shouldn’t he get paid from a meme? He wouldn’t be the first rapper to capitalize on the fleeting publicity, and he won’t be the last.
