Drake’s Views has earned its seventh straight week at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, as its single “One Dance,” finished atop the Hot 100 for the fifth week in a row and sixth overall. The Young Money artist is one week away from matching 50 Cent’s 2005 feat of leading both charts for six consecutive weeks with “Candy Shop” and The Massacre.
Notable movement in the Billboard 200 includes Beyonce’s Lemonade dropping two spots to No. 4 and Kevin Gates continuing his quiet success as his debut studio album Islah jumped from No. 19 to No. 13 in its 20th week on the chart.
Here are the 10 best-selling hip-hop or R&B albums in the Billboard 200 for the week ending June 16, determined by total equivalent album units. Pure album sales are in parentheses, with total streams in brackets.
1. Drake – Views – 121,378 (26,666) [110,467,425] 4. Beyonce – Lemonade – 56,412 (38,315) [6,033,157] 6. Rihanna – ANTI – 37,032 (8,209) [31,707,101] 13. Bryson Tiller – Trapsoul – 16,527 (2,765) [18,271,006] 30. The Weeknd – Beauty Behind the Madness – 14,052 (3,348) [12,710,296] 34. G-Eazy – When It’s Dark Out – 13,549 (2,534) [13,158,247] 37. Future – EVOL – 13,248 (650) [14,852,902]
Drake aside, the Hot 100 also featured some movement as Desiigner’s “Panda” dropped to No. 3 and both of Rihanna’s Top 10 entries reached new peaks. The ANTI singer’s collaboration with Calvin Harris, “This Is What You Came For,” hit No. 6 and her latest solo single, “Needed Me,” was right behind at No. 7.
While there’s no end in sight for Drake’s chart dominance, YG’s excellent sophomore album, Still Brazy, should debut as one of the 10 best-selling hip-hop or R&B albums next week.
