About this Event
Renowned artist Questlove is the co-founder of one of hip-hop’s defining groups, the Roots. He is a six-time GRAMMY Award–winning musician, an Academy Award–winning filmmaker, a New York Times bestselling author, a producer and a culinary entrepreneur. Hip-hop history is his own personal history—he not only has an encyclopedic fluency and passion for the genre, but he has lived some of the inside stories that no one else knows.
Sharing stories and anecdotes from his new landmark book, Hip-Hop Is History, Questlove, in conversation with artist Open Mike Eagle, skillfully traces the creative and cultural forces that made and shaped hip-hop, highlighting both the forgotten but influential gems and the undeniable chart-topping hits.
This program is presented in partnership with Thalia Hall.
