J.Cole and the Dreamville team have revealed the roster for the second Dreamville Festival, which will take be held on Saturday, April 2nd and Sunday, April 3rd at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina. After a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Cole and Dreamville brass are excited to get the annual festival back on track.
The artist has said that his intention was to create a music festival that was more than just a collection of live acts. J. Cole wanted to create an experience that combines great music with the food culture and atmosphere of the area that he calls home. The first try of the Dreamville Festival saw a good turnout and featured many prominent artists, and Cole expects it to continue being an annual event that patrons get to enjoy for years to come.
The Dreamville roster boasts some of the best artists in the game outside of J.Cole, including JID, Bas, Ari Lennox, Lute, Earthgang and Cozz, all of whom will be performing. Both Earthgang and Cozz are coming off exciting new projects.
Outside of his own squad, notable guest performers include Lil Baby, WizKid, Lil Wayne, Jeezy, T.I., Morray, Kehlani, T-Pain and more. As always, J.Cole shows his appreciation for both the old school, and newer movements within hip hop.
On top of its power as a top-tier hip-hop event, Dreamville Festival is an instrument for altruism. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit charity including Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy, and the label’s own Dreamville Foundation, which empowers youth to discover their “limitless potential through life-altering experiences.” J.Cole is from nearby Fayetteville, North Carolina, and his long history of giving back to his community is well documented.
