DJ KhaledÔÇÖs ÔÇ£Major KeyÔÇØ First-Week Projections Revealed

Music producer DJ Khaled‘s new Major Key album is reportedly en route to possibly knock off rap star Drake’s Views from atop the sales chart.

Based on early estimates, Khaled’s latest compilation album should sell at least 45,000 copies in its opening week.

Various high-profile artists have promoted Khaled’s new release on social media.

According to reports, Drake’s new solo offering debuted atop the sales chart this week.

DrakeÔÇÖs Views stays put at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a 12th nonconsecutive week, earning another 85,000 equivalent album units (down 5 percent) in the week ending July 28, according to Nielsen Music. Views has the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by an artist (as opposed to a soundtrack) since AdeleÔÇÖs 21 ruled for 24 weeks in 2011 and 2012. The last male artist to spend more than 12 weeks at No. 1 was Billy Ray Cyrus, with his Some Gave All album (17 weeks) back in 1992. (Billboard)

Drake’s Views sold nearly 90,000 copies in its 11th week of availability.

DrakeÔÇÖs Views remains steady at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for an 11th nonconsecutive week, as the set earned another 89,000 equivalent album units (down 3 percent) in the week ending July 21, according to Nielsen Music. Views has now earned the most weeks at No. 1 for an album since Taylor SwiftÔÇÖs 1989 spent its 11th and final week atop the list on the chart dated Feb. 21, 2015. The last album to lead for more than 11 weeks was the Frozen soundtrack (13 weeks, 2014). (Billboard)
