DJ Precise’s Top 5 “Murder Master Music Show” Moments: “Mystikal Was Rappin’ Like LL” [Audio]

[If you don’t know who DJ Precise is then I’m sure you know some of the people he helped put in the music business – Mystikal, Fiend, and Juvenile to name a few. Before Mystikal and Fiend were on No Limit, both artists kicked off their careers on Big Boy Records which DJ Precise was half owner of. Here’s five big moments from his appearance on the “Murder Master Music Show” Ep. 288.]

Juvenile Calling Precise Before Signing W/ Cash Money

Juvey called me and was like “Hey Cuz, Cash Money wanna f*ck with me with the music”, and I said “You know what cuz? that’s your money, get that!” That’s my little cousin. Everybody I dealt with I still deal with to this day.

DJ Precise Shut Down Studio Session After First Hearing Fiend Rap

I did a track for Black Menace during a studio session, I had the track on the wheel ready to go for their session. J-Dawg and Fiend are cousins so he brought Fiend to the studio that day for his session. The first guy who walked in was Fiend and he was rappin’ to the beat that I had playing, I told him not to stop rappin’, and to go in the booth and keep doing what you’re doing! Black Menace was looking at me like “I thought we had a studio session?” and I was like “Ya’ll did, but you brought this cat in with you and now you don’t.” That was the start of his sh*t!

Mystikal Sounded Like LL On An Early Recording Juvey Played For DJ Precise

I heard a Mystical song before he went to Desert Storm and Juvenile played me a song before Mystical went to Desert Storm and this mutha f*cka was rapping’ like LL but it was the “Here I Go” lyrics.

Barry Weiss Cut The Check After He Heard The Beat To “Here I Go”

I got the record deals done, and me and Mystical was sitting in Barry Weiss’s office and they needed one more song to cut the check and I played the beat (to Here I Go) and they cut the check right there.

Juvenile Was Already A Gold Artist Cash Money

DJ Jimmy introduced me to Juvenile and he said he was this 15 year old kid doing all the stuff that I want to do in the club, so we go see this mutha f*cka in this little hole in the wall club and he was rocking’ that mutha f*cka! The next day we took his ass to the studio and he wrote about 3 to 4 songs for DJ Jimmy. Juvenile was already a gold artist before he even got to Cash Money. This was early 90s.
