DrakeÔÇÖs Chart-Topping Streak Comes To An End

OVO Sound leader Drake’s must-hear “One Dance” single has finally fallen from grace after 15 straight weeks on the United Kingdom’s singles charts.

According to reports, Drizzy’s Views anthem fell to electronic band Major Lazer‘s “Cold Water.”

The rapperÔÇÖs ÔÇ£One Dance,ÔÇØ which features collaborators WizKid and Kyla, was the No. 1 tune across the pond ruled for 15 consecutive weeks, which is an incredibly impressive feat no matter what the country. ÔÇ£DanceÔÇØ was bested by a brand new entry, which had enough star power to begin at the top of the list. Major LazerÔÇÖs ÔÇ£Cold Water,ÔÇØ which features the vocal stylings of Justin Bieber and Danish pop singer M├ÿ, is by far the number one track this week, with over 102,000 equivalent units shiftedÔÇöa large number for a country many times smaller than the U.S. Expect an impressive (though probably not a No. 1 one) debut for ÔÇ£Cold WaterÔÇØ here in America next week. Despite the setback, Drake’s latest solo album regained its top spot on the sales chart this week.

DrakeÔÇÖs Views remains steady at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for an 11th nonconsecutive week, as the set earned another 89,000 equivalent album units (down 3 percent) in the week ending July 21, according to Nielsen Music. Views has now earned the most weeks at No. 1 for an album since Taylor SwiftÔÇÖs 1989 spent its 11th and final week atop the list on the chart dated Feb. 21, 2015. The last album to lead for more than 11 weeks was the Frozen soundtrack (13 weeks, 2014). (Billboard)

Recently, vixen Amber Rose revealed her involvement on Drake’s chart-topping album.

A few weeks ago, Views fell from grace after battling it out with rock group Blink-182.

After nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, DrakeÔÇÖs Views is dethroned from the top slot by Blink-182ÔÇÖs new set, California. The latter debuts at No. 1 with 186,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 7, according to Nielsen Music. (Billboard)

Drizzy hopped onto Instagram in early July and celebrated Views‘ nine straight weeks atop the sales chart.
