Red Trap Dragon is a mixtape that’s been teased for months. ILOVEMAKONNEN has released singles off it, and even toyed with the idea of retirement. Pushing through those thoughts, Makonnen teams up with Danny Wolf for the long anticipated tape.
The duo of Makonnen and Wolf offer the less is more approach at only eight songs total. It’s not one of those projects where you’ll leave dissatisfied and wanting more. Yeah, who doesn’t want more, but Red Trap Dragon is a perfect listen for the Makonnen fan. He goes off on “Sounding Like Who.” The ever-present melodies are as good as his Drink More Water 6 project from earlier this year.
