Ja Rule & Ashanti Dead Their Killer Tour

Former Murder Inc. duo Ashanti and Ja Rule have reportedly axed plans to launch a new nationwide run under the “Natural Born Killers Tour” name.

According to Ja, the recent slayings of various Americans inspired the tour title change.

Ja tells TMZ … he and Ashanti have decided to change the original tour name, Natural Born Killers, because they thought it would be “insensitive to the families of the victims” of senseless violence. Ja reposted a promo for their 12-show tour with the word “Killers” crossed out. It’s now called the Natural Born Tour. (TMZ)

A few days ago, Ashanti hopped on Instagram to promote the upcoming run.

Last year, the R&B veteran revealed how close rap star Jay Z came to landing on her “Foolish” smash.

“[Irv] called him, he sent Jay the record and Jay was like, ÔÇÿIÔÇÖm in.ÔÇÖ He said, ÔÇÿI wanna get on the record.ÔÇÖ I donÔÇÖt know if he came up to office or what, but Irv changed his mind. He was like, ÔÇÿYou know what? ThatÔÇÖs typical. IÔÇÖm not gonna do the typical R&B record and get the big rapper to co-sign it.ÔÇÖ He said, ÔÇÿIÔÇÖm gonna make her write an ill verse.ÔÇÖ And thatÔÇÖs how that came about.” (VLAD TV)

In 2014, the New York native hinted at plans to reunite with Rule.

“I played him records from the album, he was super excited for me. We’re definitely gonna do something. Right now, we’re kind of like on our paths of–you know we haven’t put music out in a long time, so we kind of want to reestablish our own lanes first and then do something amazing together. Because the thing about it is, our chemistry is just so organic, it really doesn’t take a lot. If we get in the studio, we’re good, you know what I mean? So, we’re both really, really excited and happy for each other.” (Complex TV)
