Jerry Heller’s Lawyer Blames Dr. Dre & Ice Cube For Causing Death

An attorney for late music mogul Jerry Heller has singled out his former clients Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. Lawyer Mickey Shapiro believes the duo’s Straight Outta Compton N.W.A. biopic ultimately ended his life.

According to Shapiro, the film’s false Heller portrayal gave him a fatal heart attack heading into the weekend.

In fact — Shapiro says things were so bad — Jerry barely slept and was “heart broken” over the entire thing. TMZ broke the story … Heller was in a car accident Friday around noon, the initial investigation states he may have suffered a medical emergency to cause the wreck. Shaprio says Jerry’s family has been told it appears he suffered a heart attack before the crash. Mickey says he believes the heart attack was brought on by the stress from the film and tells us, “Jerry Heller would be alive today if not for that movie.” (TMZ)

Early Saturday (September 3), viral reports about Heller’s shocking death scattered across social media.

Jerry Heller, the original manager for N.W.A., has died according to sources with AllHipHop.com. He was 75. The businessman was widely recognized as the man that helped bring the controversial group to the masses along with Eazy-E. The cause of death is not yet known. (All Hip Hop)

Earlier this year, Herller talked about former protégés Ice Cube and Dr. Dre bashing him in last year’s N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton.

“They’re saying things about me in that film that are not only not true but they’re very demeaning and degrading and now it means everybody over the world will think that about me. That’s just not true. There’s just so much more attention being brought to the movie now and I would have felt a lot better if I were portrayed honestly and Eazy was portrayed in a light he should have been. I think it was a combination of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and the widow [of Eazy-E]. I’m very proud of the work that he did and I’m proud of the success Ice Cube has had.” (TMZ Live)
