Major Key alert: DJ Khaled has proved being the King of Snapchat can push album sales. As reported earlier this week, the Miami DJ’s release became the first hip-hop album — and second overall — to bounce Drake‘s juggernaut Views from the top of the Billboard 200 since its release. Khaled’s first effort on Epic Records was his first no. 1 on the Billboard chart, topping his previous best of no. 4 with 2012’s Kiss the Ring.
Like Views before it, Major Key was an Apple Music and iTunes exclusive during its first week, making the feat all the more impressive. The album also debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard R&B and Hip-Hop Albums chart and landed three songs on the Hot 100, the highest of which was “For Free” featuring Drake, which rose one spot to no. 13.
Speaking of Drake, the week wasn’t a complete wash, as the rapper’s “One Dance” topped the Hot R&B and Hip-Hop Songs chart for the 14th straight week — albeit not the Hot 100, where it rose one rung to no. 2. Still, the runner-up finish allowed him to add to the record he set just last week for most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 by a solo male artist.
Here are the 10 best-selling hip-hop or R&B albums in the Billboard 200 for the week ending August 4, determined by total equivalent album units. Pure album sales are in parentheses, with total streams in brackets.

Next week, it looks like the Suicide Squad soundtrack will land at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 if projections hold up.
