[With a jam-packed year filled with an upcoming “Trap Hard Texas” and endless collaborations, Play-N-Skillz’s Play talks to SOHH about putting together a secret EDM project with Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne vocals.]
First of all, I’ve got the utmost respect for Mannie Fresh. He’s actually one of my idols, me and my brother’s [idols].
When we were coming up, his drums, drumrolls and his patterns was so inspirational to us and now to be able to work on stuff. We’ve seen each other out quite a few times.
We worked on a record on my project years ago. We built a friendship before anything and I saw him at an event. He was like, “Yo, I got this project I’m doing with Lil Wayne, this EDM thing. I got these vocals, I wanna do it with you guys. Let’s do it together.”
I’m like, “F*ck yeah! Let’s go.” So we got it in motion.
It’s real. I don’t know what’s going to come about it, I just know we’re excited about it and we’re going to take a jab at it and see how it works out.
