Power Recap ÔÇô ItÔÇÖs Never Over, Season 3, Episode 2

Tonight’s episode should have been named ‘Sleepless Nights’ because all throughout the episode, no one can get a good night’s rest. We are almost certain it’s a theme that Courtney and ‘Em put together. But who can sleep with Tasha and Angela meeting face-to-face and then Tasha and Holly meet face-to-face and then an unexpected night-time threesome at the end.

This episode begins where the last episode ended; with Jamie and Angela in bed. Jamie has just discovered that Lobos is still alive and can’t sleep. In the morning, Jamie consults with his lawyer Proctor and tells him he needs his help in locating Lobos so he can leave the game for good.

Angela is confident the Feds will win their John Doe Witness Protection Program against Lobos, even without a witness. Mike, who is secretly working with Lobos, plays stupid with Angela and suggests that it’s not a good idea. Ask Angela leaves, Saxe approaches Mike and wants to investigate who was the person who stabbed Lobos. Mike, doesn’t really like that idea either.

Jamie reaches out to his hitter in prison. He informs him that Lobos is still alive and that he needs to finish the job.

Tommy hasn’t told Holly that Belle (the dog) is dead so he encourages her to plaster the neighborhood with posters looking for Belle.

Jamie visits Tasha and thanks her for allowing the kids to meet Angela. Before Jamie leaves, he gives Tasha a check to give to Tommy which would close down all of the businesses and end their partnership for good. When Tasha, goes to visit Tommy she runs into Holly but the two butt heads immediately – until Holly sees how much the check is for. Tasha takes the check back and tells Holly to have Tommy reach out.

Julio questions Tommy as to why Lobos keeps delivering half the product and he suggests they cut it to make it stretch. Tommy objects to this idea and storms off because he knows the only way to Lobos will deliver all the product is to kill Ghost.

Tasha meets up with Keisha who is tripping that Tasha allowed Jamie to have a sleepover with the kids at Angela’s house. During their playful banter, Keisha notices Tasha’s wedding ring is gone. Tasha confides to Keisha that she sold the ring. Keisha questions if Tasha needs money, to which Tasha denies but the look on her face says otherwise.

Jamie introduces himself to two big spenders at the club. Jamie also tells them that he is also the new owner of Verbatim, which he acquired from Stern in the divorce settlement and invites them back for opening night. The guys accept his gracious offer.

Looking for some action, Dre confronts Ghost and demands to know what’s up with the “La Arana” card on Ghost’s desk. Dre tells Ghost that he’s down for whatever but Ghost sends him away to handle more club business.

Tasha and Tommy finally meet up at a diner. Tommy questions why Tasha didn’t tell him that Jamie set up Kanan and sent him to jail. Tasha flips the script and questions why Tommy didn’t tell her Jamie was smashing “Miss Puerto Rico.” Tasha and Tommy leave on bad terms.

Dre does a club walk thru with DJ Taj, a high-profile EDM DJ. The DJ makes some unusual demanding requests to Dre which angers Dre. As Jamie walks in, he can see that Dre is about to go street on DJ Taj and smoothes out the situation. Jamie tells Dre handle the contract between the club and the DJ. Instead of handling his job, Dre goes back to the block and meets up with his boys. Once his boys find out that Dre works at a club, they question him about how to rob it but Dre states that he doesn’t know the ins and outs just yet. His boys also question the whereabout of Kanan because no one has seen him in a while.

[MISTAKE: Despite being a “germaphobe”, DJ Taj touches Dre but won’t shake Jamie’s hand. Bad Courtney, bad.]

The Chinese Drug Cartel is upset that Tommy only delivered half of the shipment. One Chinese guy is upset at Tommy’s excuses however, the head of the organization is more forgiving. When Tommy ends with meeting with domo arigato, which means “thanks a lot” or “thank you very much” in – JAPANESE, the Chinese kid is offended but the elder appreciates the effort. They invite Tommy and Julio to stay for dinner and ‘services’ but Tommy passes.

“I got a lady and a pizza at home.”

Proctor can’t find Lobos through his connections, so he suggests that Lobos may be in hiding using the John Doe Prosecution. Procto suggests that Ghost question Angela to find out where Lobos is.

Tommy comes home and shows Holly the check that Tasha gave him. Holly offers to take it to the bank but Tommy says he will handle it. During her philacio duties with Tommy, Holly manages to slip the check into her possession.

Ghost finds out that DJ Taj will be spinning across the street because someone *cough* Dre *cough* didn’t get the contract signed. Jamie wants to know who owns the club across the street and he finds out it’s Andy and Albe. Dre apologizes for not getting the contract signed BUT he tells Jamie that he’s not used to doing work – he’s from the hood.

Tasha drops by Angela’s house. Tasha wants to see where her kids will be staying and gives Angela a bunch of guidelines. Tasha remarks that the house is smaller than she expected. [Jamie bought up having a tiny apartment to Angela in the first episode.

“I needed to see where my kids are going to be.”

Holly is very impressed at how Tommy’s accounts are set up to be legal and is surprised to find out that Tasha is the mastermind behind it. Holly suggests that they bring on use Tasha as a partner.

Using all of his connections, Protector can’t find Lobos.

Sax is upset with Angela that the evidence of the guy who stabbed Lobos was sent back to the various precients making it more difficult to find out who attempted to kill Lobos. This news makes Angela rush home but gets sidetracked by the unexpected drop off of Jamie’s kids.

Sax finds footage of Lobos’ stabber and spots a tattoo on his neck which allows him to figure out who stabbed Lobos. Sax shows Mike a picture of who stabbed Lobos.

Tommy meets with the guy who killed Belle and promises to kill Jamie.

The kids exchange small talk with Angela. Jamie gets an unexpected call and tells Angela to play with the kids.

Tommy finally calls Jamie. Jamie wants to meet Tommy in person. Tommy suggests Brooklyn Bridge Park. Tommy positions himself in the shadows but can’t bring himself to pull the trigger. Tommy sends Jamie a text that he can’t make it.

While sleeping over at Angela’s house, Jamie’s son, Tarqui steals Angela’s gun.

Surprisingly, the inmate that Saxe identified gets stabbed just as Saxe reaches the prison. And of course Jamie isn’t in bed with her which puts more doubt in her mind.

Upset that he didn’t have the balls to kill his former partner, while Tommy is getting high on his own supply, one of his henchmen questions him causing Tommy to beat him to a bloody pulp. Julio looks on. Tommy tells Julio that it should have been Julio for talking to Ghost.

“Nobody better ever disrespect me again.” – Tommy

Tommy, spaced out of his mind, finally tells Holly that Bella isn’t missing but that Lobos killed the dog. Holly puts the battery in Tommy’s back and tells him, “If you can’t kill Ghost for yourelf Tommy, do it for me.”

Suddenly, a knock is heard on the door and Holly has some surprising news for Tommy. In walks Tasha like she’s a hood version of Olivia Pope.

“I hear you have a problem. Apparently, I can help.” – Tasha

So tell us, who do you think killed the hitter? Ghost? Lobos? or Mike?
