Life throws curveballs more often than not and over years of experience, we may or may not get used to dodging them. On “Do What You Say,” Tyrique Shahmir reminds listeners we shouldn’t be ashamed of hitting a few road bumps when growing up, offering advice in a way that’s easy to soak in for even the most troubled soul.

Using candid flows and glossy production from North Villah, the Tennesee rapper tells two separate stories from the POV of both sexes, attempting to remind us nobody’s perfect and the best way to deal is by opening up.

“I wanted to compose a song that women could relate to,” Tyrique explained his inspiration for the meaningful track. “I wanted women to understand that their personal issues do not go unnoticed and we as men actually deal with a lot of the same issues as they do.”

He continued, “Oftentimes our pride prevents us from speaking on emotional or sensitive subjects. We fear being considered ÔÇ£softÔÇØ in the eyes of our peers. It’s a view into the real life of young adults. “DWYS” tells the story of what it is like being young, inexperienced, and attempting to figure life out.”

Feeling some type of way and aren’t sure how to handle the pressure? Before that weight adds up, give Tyrique Shahmir’s “Do What You Say” a spin and help yourself find a comfortable outlet to vent.
