UPDATE: IKEA Distances Itself From Kanye West, Growing Collabo Rumors

Furniture superstore IKEA has responded to growing speculation about a partnership brewing with hip-hop businessman Kanye West.

According to IKEA, there are no immediate plans to collaborate with Yeezus.

“At IKEA we are constantly curious about different people, companies, artists and events around the world. To have these connections and inspiring meetings is an important way for us to find new ways to create a better everyday life for the many people. Although we are really flattered by Kanye West’s high interest in IKEA and the speculation around a joint venture, we have no plans to collaborate at this point in time.” (CNBC)

Monday (August 1) night, IKEA’s Australia Facebook page directly name-dropped Yeezy and extended a hand to the hip-hop entrepreneur.

In a new interview this week, Kanye dished on his interest in working with the mega retailer.

I have to work with IKEA  make furniture for interior design, for architecture and I know that if I do a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm where the TV goes on the side of the wall Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes  I want more products from Ye. (BBC Radio 1)

Back in March, Kanye went to Twitter and shouted out IKEA.
