With ÔÇ£PowerÔÇØ Doing Monster Numbers, ÔÇ£EmpireÔÇØ Snags Kid Cudi

Former G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi is going to get his acting chops going again with a confirmed appearance on Fox’s “Empire” television series.

According to reports, Cudi has landed a guest role on the hit primetime show.

Mescudi (Entourage, James White), will recur as another rapper named Gram, an independent musician who is a rival to Hakeem (Bryshere ÔÇ£YazzÔÇØ Gray) both in the studio and in life. That competition extends to romance: Gram is dating HakeemÔÇÖs ex, Tiana (Serayah McNeill). (EW)

Rap stars French Montana and Birdman are expected to appear on “Empire” next season.

Last month, actor/rapper Romeo Miller hinted at his possible involvement in the show’s upcoming third season.

Recent reports revealed “Empire” guest star rapper Xzibit’s “Shyne” character would play a key role in season three.

Empire showrunner Ilene Chaiken foreshadowed XzibitÔÇÖs status upgrade in an interview with TVLine last month, telling us Shyne will be ÔÇ£a central characterÔÇØ in LuciousÔÇÖ Season 3 storyline. The EP, meanwhile, stressed to EW.com back in May that, ÔÇ£Shyne isnÔÇÖt necessarily an adversary, although I think he could become an adversary. ÔÇ£Lucious has a long history with him ÔÇö history thatÔÇÖs going to come back and bite Lucious for a lot of earlier slights,ÔÇØ she continued. ÔÇ£If you have a guy whoÔÇÖs not afraid to die, not afraid to go to prison, thatÔÇÖs a very dangerous adversary.ÔÇØ (TVLine)
