Diz, Cisco Swank Render a Brighter Future on New Single ‘Oneday’

Boston-based emcee/producer Diz is back with another sizzling single by way of new drop oneday.  A collaboration with Brooklyn producer and recording artist Cisco Swank, oneday sees the two, adroit wordsmiths trade fire verses over expectedly soulful instrumentation.

Oneday I’ll see the Fruits of My Labor…

Built on toned-down delivery, with nuanced wordplay, Diz and Swank navigate vibrant sample chops with elegance and purpose. Thematically, both verses imagine a more fruitful time, a future where the trials and tribulations of the present give way to greener pastures.  This sentiment is exemplified by the stoical songwriting at the conclusion of Diz’s verse.

“Some things take time, I knew patience, foot to the pavement./Sword and my shield rest calm when I’m waiting./My thoughts feel weighty.”

Cisco Swank follows suit with an equally expressive verse.  On top of the cohesive discourse between the artists, there is exceptional congruity in their delivery.  It feels almost as if each artist shared their best qualities as studio performers, projecting that essence into a shared identity.  The transition between verses aids that, as a nonchalant mini-hook bridges the gap from Diz’s verse to Cisco Swank’s.

Diz, Cisco SwankThis uncommon chemistry may come in part due to Diz and Swank sharing a stage.  Both artists performed at THAT GOOD SH*T x GIGFiNESSE PRESENTS showcase at Chelsea Music Hall in New York this September.  Along with Dre Wave$, Wits & Smitty! Hopeadope and Wiseboy Jeremy, a New York crowd were treated to a collection of top emerging artists.

Diz has once again shared his rare gift of creating art that is as angsty as it hopeful.  At the end of the day, that collision of positive and negative forces is central to the identity of many fans. With the right mindset, oneday, the positive side could triumph.
