JusSoL Puts Things Into Perspective On ÔÇÿProblems And PainsÔÇÖ

Having a bad day? Listen to “Problems and Pains” from JusSoL and you’re bound to walk away feeling a little less frustrated. Funny thing is, this record isn’t fun-loving or chipper in the least.

Instead, the Chicago rap singer uses slow-building production from DUTCHBOYBEATS to offer a somber reflection of real world problems many of us would never understand, in order to give true perspective on pain management. She may not have experienced each of her shuttering details first hand, but as she explained to us, that understanding is how she helped battle some of her own demons:

“I wrote this song as I lied in bed, in pajamas, in the dark because I saw no reason for light,” Jus wrote via email. “At the time, I was re-watching J Cole’s Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming. I had just graduated college, no job or prospects, friends who I believed were too busy to talk and there was this constant thought I was ruining my life.

“It hit me then, hearing J. Cole talk about people not making it out of Fayetteville, that there are people who have no clean drinking water, people who are a state away from me, people on the street dying…literally dying and kids who weren’t blessed with the opportunities that I’ve been blessed with. And I’m here sulking. I know the problems we face now may seem like the end of the world but everyday we open our eyes to new beginnings, beginnings some people can’t have.”

Sometimes, another point of view is all it takes to see the light. If you’re stuck in the dark, take a listen to JusSol’s stimulating new track below and remember, things could always be worse.
