The last time Kendrick Lamar was on a record with Big Sean was in 2013, and we all remember what happened then. It’s pretty much the same for DJ Khaled’s “Holy Key,” the music curator’s latest guest-filled offering from his forthcoming album, Major Key.

Debuted on Khaled’s We The Best Radio on Apple Music, the Compton rapper steals the show on the track with a fiery verse rife with biting lyrics that only further cements his positioning as one of the best lyricist and most socially aware rappers in the game.

For once, DJ Khaled wasn’t speaking in hyperboles when he said Kendrick’s verse was going to be the most-talked about. Well, he was, but at least he wasn’t lying this time. Big Sean’s no slouch, though. Sean Don holds his own on the instrumental with his usual brand of braggadocious punchlines, while R&B veteran Betty Wright’s powerful vocals round out the inspirational record.
