It looks like DJ Khaled’s ÔÇ£Nas Album DoneÔÇØ was more than just a simple song title. As it turns out, Nas has already completed his next new album, news he confirmed in a recent interview with Complex.

The Queensbridge legend let it be known that his eleventh studio album is a done deal. “All we’re doing now is plotting when we’re dropping,” he says. The project already has a title as well, but Nas thinks “it’s not time to put that out there.” His plans after that will include the release of Lost Tapes 2 and “a couple of things I can’t remember.”

Since 2012’s Life Is Good, Nas has been rather quiet the past few years on the musical tip but he’s been busy working on other ventures, namely Mass Appeal Records and delving into TV and film. He’s involved in the upcoming Netflix series The Get Down, a coming of age story based in the Bronx during the 1970s, and he helped work on the recently released flick The Land. He describes how film was just as important to his development and creativity as music was.

“I don’t know what I was writing first: stories, in my imagination to be made to film as a kid, or if I was just writing lyrics,” he says. “It was a simultaneous thing. Music took me by storm and took me out and gave me this beautiful gift, but the film [interest] never went away. It was about finding the time in my life to do it and dedicate myself to it.”

Thankfully, he’s able to scratch both of his creative itches now. And it’s even better than music is coming back into focus for him now. He releases this album and he should be done with his Def Jam contract, which will open the door for that long-talked-about collaborative project with DJ Premier we’ve waited forever for.
