Big Gigantic, Kota the Friend Announce New Single, ‘Deja vu’

Genre-bending EDM duo Big Gigantic have announced a collaboration with Brooklyn recording artist Kota the Friend on a new single, ‘Deja vu’. The track will reach all streaming services at midnight on Tuesday, April 5th.

Big Gigantic announced the release via an Instagram post yesterday, complete with a presave link which can be found here.  The Denver based duo have a history of working with prominent rappers including previous collaborations with Pell, Logic, Felly and Wacka Flocka Flame.

Path to Deja Vu

The collision course will pair the electronic prowess of Big Gigantic with Kota the Friend’s approachable, down-to-earth lyricism.  While the track is certain to bridge the gap between distinct genres, the similarities between the two acts are uncanny.

First, both Kota and Big Gigantic are independent, by choice.  Also, loyal core fanbases provide immense support to each. Kota and Big Gigantic consistently reward them with new music. Finally, both acts draw deep influence from elements of hip hop and jazz.  The Deja Vu collaboration materialized as a natural fit.

Kota the Friend and Big Gigantic both recently announced upcoming music festival schedules.  Big Gigantic will headline ROWDYTOWN X on September 23 and 24th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets are available here.  Meanwhile, Kota the Friend is continuing his Flight Night music festival. Scheduled shows include Chicago (April 29th), and New York (July 22nd).  Limited tickets are available for the Chicago show and can be purchased at flightnight.com.

Kota the Friend recently met with popular podcast host Bootleg Kev. Kota discussed Lyrics to Go Vol. 3, the power of being an independent artist, and his experiences touring. Kota confirmed a new album, which he said will drop in June. You can watch the full interview below.

Stay tuned as we will have a Deja Vu review at the time of release next Tuesday.
