Kota the Friend Announces ‘TO SEE A SUNSET’ (DELUXE)

A little less than a month after releasing his second brilliant collab project with Statik Selektah, Kota the Friend has disclosed that TO SEE A SUNSET (DELUXE) is coming soon. Set for an April 26th release, the extended version will feature 8 new tracks, each one appearing to contain a feature verse.

Kota took to twitter to share the Deluxe track list and release date:

In its original 10 song context, To See a Sunset is a hip-hop masterpiece, presenting undeniable chemistry between Kota and Statik. Adding an array of compelling features will only add to that. Features range from Dreamville emcee Cozz to Los Angeles Flight Night performer Hannah Got Raps. One should expect that all of the new music will still be executively produced by Statik Selektah.

Here are the 8 new songs and features fans can expect on To See a Sunset (Deluxe):

  • Brick By Brick – featuring the jazzy and soulful Los Angeles emcee Blu. Expect superb chemistry between two lyrical emcees who favor boom-bap instrumentation.
  • Grace – featuring Chicago/LA rapper and flight night performer Hannah Got Raps. Hannah is a brilliant songwriter with poetic bars and vision that often extends toward social issues. This song will almost certainly be impactful.
  • New Money – featuring Dreamville lyricist Cozz. Fans should be ecstatic for this collaboration. Cozz’s dynamic mic presence and charisma should be dope over Statik instrumentation.
  • High Alert – featuring Boston-born emcee Terminology. Term is known for his gritty bars, commanding delivery and intricate wordplay. This track should offer a really cool contrast in styles with Kota’s verses.
  • Church Shoes – featuring Conchez, one half of East New York hip-hop duo Iso Indies. Lyricism at the highest level on this one, with definite NY vibes.
  • Hold Me Down – featuring South African rapper Shane Eagle. This joint is going to have great international flavor – Eagle’s flow is insane and his talent has been celebrated across the world, leading to a tour with Dreamville.
  • Real Ones Remix – featuring Louie Tha Profit, Nachaash G & Michael Minelli. We got previews of this joint as the guest features came from a verse contest that Kota ran through social media. It will be dope to hear the final mixed & mastered product.
  • Rocky 6 – featuring CJ FLY. Kota and CJ recently released another single called Thankful, so you can use that release to get an idea about their chemistry. However, the Brooklyn native and founding member of Pro Era never disappoints.

With all these new features over Statik Selektah production, To See a Sunset (Deluxe) is truly a can’t-miss.
