Kota the Friend Caps off Europe Tour with Birthday Performance in Paris

Kota the Friend’s Flight Night tour in Europe was exceptional on many levels. Stops in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris over the course of a week speak to his endurance and fortitude.  In each city, Kota  provided a platform for local indie artists to share their talents with their hometown crowd.

From Os in London, to Young Naughty Soul in Berlin, each independent act made the most of their turn in the spotlight.  And of course, each night was punctuated with a spectacular hour-long set from Kota.  While each stop on the tour only added to the mystique of FLTBYS legendary tour, last night’s Paris show was extra special.

The last stop on a tour is always significant.  It’s the culmination of each show that came before.  It’s an opportunity for an artist to leave a lasting mark on the experience as a whole.  To create memories that will forever be associated with the movement.  And in this case, it happened to fall on Kota the Friend’s 30th birthday.

Paris Flight Night

You couldn’t ask for a better setting for such a momentous occasion.  From the iconic red windmill of the venue’s exterior, to the open yet intimate setting, La Machine Du Moulin Rouge provided a backdrop allowing all performers to thrive. Paris wasn’t just a finale for Kota.  C-God4Life, Artz and Samuel Limata provided support throughout the tour, and made the most of the final leg, pouring their all into this final performance.

The local support was astounding as well, with breathtaking performances from Paris artists Acifiq and Kyma. Acifiq used incisive bars and heady lyricism to connect with his fans, and Kyma’s luscious vocals wowed the Paris crowd.

I am so thankful to have been able to open for Kota with all these other talented artists,” shared Acifiq. “It’s amazing to be with people that share such good energy.  The venue, the crowd and everyone involved made it an unforgettable moment for my team and I, and hopefully for anyone who came to see the show.”

Kota took the stage to a tumultuous ovation, and treated the crowd to his vivid storytelling and unparalleled stage presence.  In a truly endearing moment, the crowd chanted “Kota, Kota, Kota!” The rapper responded by responding with calls of “Paris, Paris, Paris.”  The mutual love between the artist, and his fans was on full display.

With his Europe tour officially in the books, there are two upcoming opportunities to catch Kota the Friend live.  On November 11th, FLTBYS will perform in their second home, Harrisburg PA, where Flight Night kicked off last year.  December 7th – 13th, Kota will take his talents down under, for performances in Australia and New Zealand.
