Mac Miller’s 2011 Mixtape ‘I Love Life, Thank You’ Now Available on Streaming Services

Mac Miller I Love Life, Thank You

More than a decade after its initial release, Mac Miller’s sixth mixtape I Love Life, Thank You, has reached all major streaming platforms.

Mac originally dropped the tape through DatPiff in October 2011 as part of his “Road 2 a Million Fans” campaign.  The movement saw the late rapper release a new single for every 100,000 twitter followers.  Miller hit 900,000 followers in September of 2011, and was true to his word, dropping singles Love Lost, Family First, Just a Kid, The Miller Family Reunion, Cold Feet, and Willie Dynamite in response to his burgeoning following.

In October, I Love Life, Thank You was released in full.  Featuring Bun B, Talib Kweli, and Sir Michael Rocks, the tape features production from some of the 2010s most notable producers.  Less than a month later, Miller released his debut studio album, Blue Slide Park.

Since reaching streaming services last week, I Love Life, Thank You has dominated streaming charts.  The mixtape debuted #1 on the USA & Global Spotify Charts, with 40% of top songs held by Mac.  The resurgence speaks to streaming services ability to carry important music to the next generation of fans.

To commemorate the rollout, Rostrum Records, (Mac’s early label), held a 12-hour Reddit Talk on subreddit r/hiphopheads last Friday.  Miller’s team met with fans and discussed his impact. They also provided giveaways to a community that is still mourning his untimely passing.
