Rae Sremmurd Shows Growth With Its New Album, ÔÇÿSremmlife 2ÔÇÖ

Rae Sremmurd came into the music industry with two huge singles: “No Flex Zone” and “No Type.” Like a lot of artists before them, they struggled to match that success leading into their sophomore album, Sremmlife 2. Luckily, what they may lack in a hit they make up for a lot of improvement as a full body of work.

Sremmlife was a mostly one-dimensional album that focused heavy on partying, and that was their lane. In many ways, it still is. The difference on Sremmlife 2 is that Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi are experimenting with different sounds and ideas. At one point, they’re reflecting on their careers with “Came a Long Way.” It’s not all turn-up music, Rae Sremmurd is growing up just a bit while maintaining those damn-good melodies. Plus, the pushback from June to August allowed them to create one of their best songs in the Gucci Mane-assisted “Black Beatles.”

The album also features appearances from Kodak Black, Juicy J, Lil Jon, and Bobo Swae. Besides Gucci, none of them really stand out but they also don’t hurt by being on Sremmlife 2. Stream the album below and purchase on iTunes and other retailers.
