The day one Taylor Gang fans are going to be very pleased with Wiz Khalifa’s new single, “Bad Influence.”
Featuring production from his long-time collaborator Sledgren, who has credits on Wiz classics like Kush & Orange Juice and Deal Or No Deal, this immediate standout feels like the old Wiz is back in full effect. The mood isn’t overdone, rather smoother than a shot of Don Julio 1942, offering ambience filled with simmering pads and a bouncy drum track that will leave your shoulders looking like a teeter-totter. Plus, there are enough low ends to give listeners a body buzz that lasts three minutes flat. Khalifa compliments the vibe perfectly, delivering rhymes that are straight to the point and directly in his comfort zone.
Between this and the extremely well-done “More And More,” Wiz has been quite fire lately.
