Black Thought Hosts Emcee Workshop at Carnegie Hall

Black Thought, The Roots legendary lyricist, is hosting a rap workshop and showcase at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  The four day bootcamp ‘School of Thought’ began on Monday, April 4th, and will culminate with an artist showcase on Thursday, April 7th.  The show will take place in the Resnick Education Wing. It will shine the light on the seven rising artists who are attended the workshops.  Tickets are available here , and the showcase will also be available via livestream.

Workshop topics will range from technical items such as lyricism, flow, delivery and style. It will also help teach an understanding of hip-hop culture and business.  In a press release, Black’s camp stated that they hope to offer, “tangible exercises that spark growth and helping them craft their individual sounds.”

‘School of Thought’ launched in 2020 but initial plans for more workshops were derailed due to the pandemic.  The 2020 workshop was a huge success.

In addition to laying a foundation for promising emcees to create at a high level, ‘School of Thought’  teaches participants tips for lasting success.
