Shawty, can you warm me up, can you be here till the morning come?”, asks Wavvii Baby in the first verse of her genuine new love song Time.  The emerging Long Beach recording artist seems to have placed all the warmth of the California sun in her pen, using her skillful writing to make a ripple effect across the industry.

Time shows the special power of emotive beat-making met by superb lyricism.  Produced by Boston’s Nick Lira, the beat uses melancholic chord progressions and slapping 808s to accentuate Wavvii’s animated vocals.

Wavvii Baby speaks directly to her lover on Time with language that is honest, forthcoming and heartfelt.  She reminds her boo that she will do anything for them and discusses the problems she has with their ex.  Beneath this lovely sentiment though, there is a feeling of toxicity.  In a lot of ways, it feels as if Wavvii is offering too much of herself to make things work with this person. These bittersweet notes reflect the way love works in real life.  Sometimes, we have to sacrifice a lot to get what we want, in turn minimizing the importance of self.

One of Time’s clear highpoints is Wavvii Baby’s vocal performance. Combining elements of singing and rapping, Wavvii’s crystal clear vocals, and melodic inclinations are gorgeous.  With excellent pacing, precise adlibs, and superb mixing, Time is a radio-ready single.

It’s Wavvii’s World

Wavvii Baby has the background, skill and credentials to make real noise as a solo act.  On top of her music engineering degree, Wavvii is an RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum songwriter.  Most notably she penned Breland’s viral hit My Truck (Remix) featuring Sam Hunt.  Her success as a songwriter came with a distribution deal through Authentic Empire Music Group.  Since then, Wavvii has been pursuing her solo career, with a debut EP in the works.  Wavvii Baby appears to be next up in the long line of successful songwriters transitioning to solo artist.

In addition to Time, Wavvii has released a flurry of successful singles in 2022.  From vocal sample heavy Cali Drill joint Tonight, to certified banger LVLS, each new release shows the full range of Wavvii’s talent.  She has also used her “Wavvii Wednesday” series to showcase her skills on the mic, remixing some of hip-hop’s most iconic beats.
